Now Jim, you wouldn't want the lottery administrators wasting money on our heritage which would mean that chicken farmers in Peru, a girl band in Ethiopia would be left without help, have you seriously thought this through!

Many a true word said in jest Ivan.I have many happy memories of the Royal Iris from when I was in my teens 15/16,many factories had social clubs for their workers and many of them ran River Cruises on the Iris a trip out to the bar and back.Although you didn't work in the place that was running the cruise you could always get someone to get you a ticket. There were good live bands on board and you could guarantee that there would be buses at the Pier Head when she docked at 11.30pm to take you to where ever you lived in Liverpool, you would be lucky to get a bus today after 7.00pm.
I see someone has had a good go at stripping her down, what a shame. My mate was AB deepsea when the Royal Iris went anywhere out of the Mersey the Capt & the Mate couldn't go only River Mersey experience but my mate could.I know my mate took the Royal Iris to Greenwich,I'm not sure if it was the Iris but he did take a ferry to Dublin to act as a tender for a US.Aircraft Carrier.
    Regards.
