took my first wife to the seychelles in 73 magical place and in those days were only 3 hotels on the main island Mahe and no buildings above the palm line. There were reputably 90 beaches and we could have a beach to ourselves.
went back in 97 on honeymoon with number 2 and still good but a lot more hotels..
william and kate went on their honey moon to there.
next honeymoon will have to be a care home in cleethorpes

I still think the Polynesian Islands are the best, most have no tourists, no airports or hotels and certainly no jet ski boats.
In the Marquesses, Nuka Hiva, real cannibals on that one, I was there last year and going again in February, it was in all the papers last October, a German Yachtsman and his girl friend landed on Nuka Hiva , he went ashore and never came back, they found his roasted half eaten bones by a camp fire. But it is a beautiful Island, not one hotel. many statues of TIKI, and sacrificial stones 3,000 years old, before the Polynesians went there,
other Islands, Rangiroa, Raitai, Tuomotus group of islets, as well as other tourist destinations like Moorea , Bora Bora, and Tahiti.
These islands are pure Paradise. The local population sing when you go ashore there, so happy to see you. and you never get mugged, eaten maybe but not mugged.
Marururu,
Brian.

Would that be Cliffe by any chance, just outside of Isle of Grain?

Tranquil WEE Places
JC Capt. Kong is that for real? Did you per chance loose any of the elderly passengers of the ship who went walkabout unescorted on the island? I wonder if anything was done re finding those responsible?
Esperitu Santo has to be one of the most beautiful islands of the Pacific, still virtually untouched & with a French influence + the attraction of diving one of the largest accessible wrecks in the world, the President Coolidge. A sublime dive which we have done maybe thirty plus times & not completely explored her. At times with the penetrations pretty trepidatious, like swimming through a huge city building with no lights & on its side + it is deep. Richard

what about Eccles on the manchester ship canal.I have been there many times and find the young females very friendly especially in the "stinkin stockin" pub.Once had a tranquil sunday afternoon in the long grass next to the power station with a delectable young lady only to realise at a later date that the grass was not really long enough and passing motorists must have had an interesting afternoon also.
Some of the views are amazing and on a clear day one can see trafford park(although most of the wild life has now disappeared apart from match days at old trafford)It is only a short way from other tranquil wee places such as irlam and weaste.A veritable gem of a place and well worth a visit on a wet afternoon

nice places
Hi Frank, One of my nicest places was La Guaira, (have I spelt it right) in Venezuela. Built on the side of a hill overlooking the small dock. Really quaint. I was sorry to see on the t.v. many years later that the town was almost wiped out following unprecented rain storms and land slides.
Regards,
Colin.
