Azamara Pursuit
The above named cruise ship arrived at H&W Belfast for a £50m refit by specialists MJN.
H&W are only supplying the wrong facilities. This is the first time MJN have used UK facilities, usually they send their staff abroad.
Hopefully all will go well leading to further UK orders.

Re: Azamara Pursuit
Lewis, MJN are only using H&W berthing facilities.
MJN are the specialist contractor who will be supplying manpower and materials for the refit.
MJN normally carry out the works abroad, but decide to try the UK this time.

Talking of cruise liner refits, anyone seen the video of a luxury liner having its length lengthened by inserting an 18 metre section into its middle. It was on gCaptain some days ago.

Yes John, a couple of years ago a Swedish cruise ship was lengthened by such manners.
Interesting to watch and makes you wonder how they can still keep the same tension in all the bulkheads and ships side.
Happy daze John in Oz.

Re: Azamara Pursuit
Let's hope the work goes to plan and on time for the Azamara Pursuit. Who knows how this kind of work could develop.
Thanks for your explanation Vic.
I anyone remember the problems Camell Laird had with a section they built for Costa Cruise lines. I think Costa rejected it in the end. Never heard the reasons or the whole story about that one. It must have been 20+years ago now.
