Thinking back dunges were denim trousers and jacket made by
I think Lybro that is before the Brits started callings dungys jeans.
Personally I liked to wear the grey trousers and shirt bought in Curacao

Re: Dunges
You could buy a Wrangler suit, jacket and Dungies for £3 , 30 bob each in the early 50s.in the southern States.
B.A. boots £5. Leather Jackets in B.A. sheep skin lined, £5. Good thick Tartan;[ can I say that without someone saying it is rascist?] lumberjack shirts in Montreal for 30 bob.
New York Salvation Army, 1000 dollar silk midnight blue suits, $10, mother darned up the bullet holes in the back, silk shirts a dollar, all from the Morgue. Washing machines and Refrigerators, 5 to 10 dollars, take them home on the Cunard boats they were always full of them , Second hand BIG Yankee cars, with tail fins, 100 dollars from the Police Pound, load them on the ship free of charge.
What a great world it was then. Looked a million dollars in those days.
Brian.

Re: Dunges
Hi Gilly,
I was there a couple of years ago, The Diner and all that block has been rebuilt and it is now a strip joint called
`THE HUSTLER`. there used to be a shop there. in fact it was discussed on here a couple of years ago or so.
I will have a look through the old posts
Cheers
Brian
Here you are Gilly, before and after,, the big car outside was Cadillac Kates.
In 1955 I was sat next to a beautiful blond. then she got up and went , she was with some fellas. Gene the bartender said, " Do you know who that was ?" I said No. he says "That was Grace Kelly, the movie star." I felt the seat it was still warm. how cool was that ?
