    Default Football Hooligism

There was some comments made previously regarding those mindless morons who call themselves football fans.
Today is the Tyne Wear derby , kick off 1330, and already many of the Sunderland supporters have disgraced themselves. Wife and daughter were going to catch the metro train to Newcastle for some last minute Christmas shopping. When the train came into the station it was absolutely chock full of drunken arseoles who had wrecked the train, smashing windows and throwing bottles out whilst hurling foul insults at any female on the station.
The train was halted and a heavy police presence went in and threw them all off, hopefully arresting all the bersterds. The train had to be taken out of service it was that badly damaged.
What a waste of tax payers money, they should all be rounded up and dropped into Iraq and told to make their own way home.
I can remember getting trains from Timperly to go to Old Trafford in the 60's and football specials were laid on but were carried in cattle trucks which looking at many of todays supporters is a tad to luxurious for these morons

Catch the hooligans today, then take them out to the middle of the pitch next week and birch them, there will be none within a month KT

Not only football matches. Here in Melbourne only a few years back there was a riot at the tennis between Croatians and Serbians.

I was unfortunate enough to have that mixture of crew on one ship, a complete nightmare

I meant to add to my original post, at sea most of us drank heavily on occasion and sometimes fights would break out but it was contained between ships crews and the public were never threatened, nor was there wonton destruction of property etc. unlike these football hooligans who seem to take great delight in abusing or threatening the general public and destroying anything in their path.
Like Ivan said, the mixture of Serbian and Croatian crew members could be toxic. All the Serbians I sailed with seemed to be the most angry and ready to fight anyone at the drop of a hat seafarers I ever met and they all had a love of guns. I sailed with at least two of them who had fought, on opposite sides, of the Serbo-Croatian war and some of the stories of the fighting there that they used to tell was pretty horrendous. The saying "no prisoners to be taken" certainly appeared to be true according to these two.

I once had a changeover of flag in Fremantle, Greek ship and crew, to Serbs, Croats and Bengalis to Singapore flag. What a mixture, the Greeks wouldn't hand over the ship to the Serbs, the Croats stormed the engineroom and evicted the Greeks, the Serbs refused to sail with Bengalis, knives, guns and crowbars everywhere, had to call in the Oz Police to quell it all and in the middle was self and WWF. Three nations that will never agree Croatia, Serbia and Greece Ah!....................happy days.

Well lads and lassies this is my last post for sometime and as I said before it has been an honour and privilige sailing with you all and again I wish you all a Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year and God Bless to all who sail in her.
