Thanks John haven't tried yet waiting until its needed. The wife already blames me for the demise of the last computer and says everything I touch I break, so have to be very circumspect. Was asked to go secretary of a mens organization but knocked back for that very reason lack of computer skills. Am a very slow learner with time not on my side. So have to pick up from others. Thanks once again and will try at a later date. John S

First check out your copy machine. It needs to be an "An in one", printer, copier and scanner, not just a copy machine.
To put a copy of any certificate or document onto the site, place the item to be copied on the glass plate of your copy/scanner machine and chose the "Scan" option of your machine. It will the most likely ask you where you want to scan the document to, chose the option "scan to computer" and press the "start" button. The machine will then scan your document in the same way as if it was copying it, but instead of printing out a copy it will save a copy of the item to your computer. The computer will ask you where you want to save the document to on your computer and what file type you wish to save it as. Usually scans are saved in "My Documents" or "My Pictures" folders on your computer. You will also be asked to five the scanned document a name, so, if for example, you are scanning your steering certificate you would type inn the "fie name" box, "Steering certificate" When your computer asks you what type of file extension you want to save the item as, choose the ".jpg" extension. This is the most common form of picture fie and can easily be edited if you need to re-size your item in order for it to comply with the sites file uploading requirements.
Once you have done the above, press "save" and the item will be saved on your computer. You can then use the "attach" icons running along the top of each post to attach that item to your post.
Hope this helps.

p.s. otherwise if this does not work, try reading the instruction manual LOL
Thanks John A. Will copy this email and keep for ref. Don't know here the manual is. However all the functions you mention are on the Copier. JS

Actually the best explanation I could have given was
"Hire a dolly bird secretary who will sit on your knee whilst scanning your work and also she will keep you supplied with hot coffee"
Two problems though with that
1. Wife may object to being called a "dolly bird" and having to make coffee all the time
2. Wife might object to the household budget being drained to pay for said dolly bird
