Having a philosophical moment

Well Den feeding the horse was the least of your troubles though putting the outcom eon your rhubarb was not good when there was plenty of custard about.
But life was so different then, began work at 9 on dads pig farm having been born at an early age with nothing, most of which I still have left. At 12 delivereing papers for 12/6 per week. Now a throw away society but sadly this does not apply to politicians. Deliveries daily of milk and bread and on Saturday the green grocer delivered with his horse and cart, no Den I did not have to feed him. Window cleaners somethin we never see now, no doubt the Privacy doo gooders got rid of them , no peeping through windows now!
We had very little in those days but we shared it around, sadly I was always at the back of the queue. Supermarkets were just begining in the late 50's and before that cheese cut from a block, sugar sold to order, broken biscuits at six pence a bag, just imagine the young of today going back in time to what we had, getting your i phone delivered daily just like the papers we delivered......................I don't think so.

We have reached the stage were it is possible to live without ever leaving the house.
People work from home, everything you need can be ordered on the net and delivered to the door.
In the very near future you will be able to enter the destination you wish to travel to and your car will drive you there automatically.
Wars are now being fought by drones operated thousands of miles away from the battlefield. The next step is robotic armies fighting each other, the days of the next generation of true armchair generals.
Scientists can clone life in laboratories, in years ahead will our offspring order their babies by computer without going through the pain and discomfort of childbirth ?

Hi John,Cant recall having to wash my hands between duties.
Shoveling horse do dos, then making tab nabs.
Those were the days.
Cant substitute flavor like that any more.
Anyone remember buying a penith of bruised fruit?
It was a great treat during the war.
Even after, if I was lucky enough to have a good apple. I used to hit it on the wall to bruise it.
Another job that became obsolete.
The TV repair man.
Now its cheaper to dump it and buy a new one.
Even the Sally Ann wont take them.
I believe that they can be recycled in India.
Not sure where they go from there.
