A new cruise ship being built a Wismar, Germany, maiden voyage maybe to the scrapyard.
The owners have gone bust and no one seems to want to purchase the unfinished ship.

Re: Cruise Ships Maiden voyage
Many of the new breed of cruise ships are far too big, not enjoyable at that size.
Capacity of up to about 2900 is comfortable and can still be a very good one.
Happy daze John in Oz.

Re: Cruise Ships Maiden voyage
Yes-for me 900 px -or 90,or less! I don't want to take my entire High Street and a couple of housing estates on holiday with me....
I guess on those leviathan cruise ships /holiday resorts ,there's no such thing as being able to find a nice quiet spot on deck to relax with a G 'n T and a thrilling Hornblower ( the book of course ). Why do people always seem to need other people? The other day at my Tesco's Superstore ,in their vast 1000 or so spaces car park,I came out to find a car parked next to mine, almost kissing door handles, when there were scores of empty spaces in rows either side !
Didn't Barbra Drysand sing about ♫ People who need people-are the luckiest people in the world ...♫
No Barbra-are they f---- !
And I loved serving in non-passenger carrying ships. Tin boxes and iron ore don't get in your way or engage you in aimless conversation !
Ooh I've got meself all worked up now.
Now,where's my next desert island holiday to be .....?
Call me Robinson Graham !

Graham if you read some of what our great philosophers have said, one said and maybe there is truth in it why all these creatures are allowed on ships .... “ The only reason why they , say women and children first is to test the strength of the lifeboats “ JS

Re: Cruise Ships Maiden voyage
From the Guardian, the shipbuilder has gone bust and the ship jus be moved.
Surely the owner would have first call on partially built ship.
When completed she would be capable.of carrying 9,000 passengers plus crew.

Re: Cruise Ships Maiden voyage
hi john sabourn #9
good evening, spike milligan one of my all time greats, his one liners where hilarious, especially the one for prince charles when the prince at a award spoke about the achievements of spike milligan, and spike called him a little grovelling bastard, and then added i suppose a knighthood is out of the question now,
but his final one his epitaph on his grave stone, ( I TOLD YOU I WAS SICK, ) was a all time great.
