Morro castle

Looking through a book shop I found a book of extrordinay events of the 20th Century. Skippin though I found the story of the 'Morro Castle'.

For those who do not know the story it is well worth looking it up on your browser.

It makes me think that the actions of the captain of the Concordia slide into insignificance after reading this one.

I have a book "The Strange Fate of the Morro Castle" by Gordon Thomas & Max Morgan-Witts. Published by Collins 1973. ISBN 0 00 211743 6. Good read and lots of photographs.

I read the story awhile back, didn't the radio officer set her alight, there was a lot of [worse things happen at sea] going on, on the Morro Castle

Yes I think it was him, but from reading just the small bit that I did it would appear that there were a number of crew who may have acted a bit oddly.
