Hi Brenda,
Having looked at the document I can confirm that the number you quote "841658" is the Dis A, well, actually it is "891658". The other number 200341 belongs to the seaman immediately below him on the Articles.
His Dis A - 891658 would have been issued in 1915. However, that is not an indication of when he joined the MN as he could have been employed on the HT route using paper discharges.

Afraid not Brenda, he doesn't have a surviving record due to the fact that none of the personal records for WW1 merchant seamen survive. All it can be used for his to confirm his identity in other Crew Agreements - the only way of tracing what ships he served in during this period.

If you look back at the beginning of the thread it states the ship QUEEN was built in 1907 so cannot be the above.
