Re: Think of this Mr. Salmond and all those Yes voters
Whats more Rob, so do the bookies, the odds they are offering on the YES vote is offering good odds, perhaps cods head Salmon has got some money on himself, the bookies are confident the No will win KT

#199...Sorry Ivan, but I didn't invent the 'Phantom Major', he was a historical fact. Nor have I any wish to denigrate Captain Cook or Lord Nelson. They were both great Englishmen, and deserve their reputations, as do many other great Englishmen. But it is also historical fact that the 'Scottish Renaissance' brought to Great Britain the world lead in science, technology, engineering, medicine, economics and other fields. I think Gordon Brown is a very clever man, he just has no charm or television 'presence' - my personal opinion.

Re: Think of this Mr. Salmond and all those Yes voters
yes Gordon Brown is very clever , he savaged many British pension pots taking £150,000,000,0000 from them since the 1997 tax increases on pensions , sold off the Gold reserve at its lowest price (£250 $/.oz )for thirty years , lost control over immigration , increased UK debt by 5% of GDP , Increased the tax burden during his term as chancellor by 51% , Yes he is about as clever as Bonnie and Clyde .
The Scottish Renaissance was a mainly literary movement of the early to mid 20th century that can be seen as the Scottish version of modernism. It is sometimes referred to as the Scottish literary renaissance, although its influence went beyond literature into music, visual arts, and politics (among other fields). The writers and artists of the Scottish Renaissance displayed a profound interest in both modern philosophy and technology, as well as incorporating folk influences, and a strong concern for the fate of Scotland's declining languages.Very little to do with science and medicine .

#205...Rob, I was talking about the REAL Scottish Renaissance of the late 18th and the 19th century! Did Gordon Brown really do all that all by himself? - wow!

#206 Unfortunately Braid, he did. I have met Gordon Brown, he is given to outbursts of rage if he doesn't get his own way especially whilst he was in office and a very insensitive man also

I would of called him and Bliar, Castor and Pollux, otherwise known as the heavenly twins. Or as uncouth seamen knew as cast iron bollicks. JS

Come, come, now Rob, you cannot place all the blame on golden bollux for the increase in immigration, I mean Tony Bliar has to take some of the credit. Its unfair on poor wee Gordon.

Re: Think of this Mr. Salmond and all those Yes voters
I'm sitting here laughing, because they say you get the politicians you deserve. I'm not sure about Gordon Brown, and can't be bothered to check; but I know Tony Blair and David Cameron were elected to parliament by their English constituents. Scots didn't have much to do with it.
