very enjoyable video, the guy echoes how most of us feel on this site, we were lucky to be in an era when the world was large and full of adventure, KT

That brings back loads of memories of KGV and Royal Albert Docks, and he mentioned
pollution, in the summer the water was so thick and black it used to boil like a stew
    bubbling away, a great interview.

Glad all you guys liked the video, we were very fortunate to live in that time, a normal trip to NZ was four months, a month to get there then eight wonderful weeks calling at various ports around the coast, as you will have gathered from the interview I loved that country, and one day hopefully before I finally call it a day I hope to return. But not on one of those container boats where the turn a boat around in 24 hours.

One question perhaps someone can answer. The ship Robin obviously just come out of dock. Why have they painted the propellor blades with bootopping. These blades unless the spare propellor used to be phosporous bronze, no need and would have thought rather stupid to paint. The only reason I can think of is that the painters didnt know any better. John thanks your video. There are as you know Kiwis on this site, some of UK origin. Myself and wife will be going over next month and doing both islands by bus and train organized I assume for us older ones who want not to be landed with driving. My own memories of NZ probably the same as yours was in the 50"s although have been back since then was under different circumstances. It was to many of us who visited way back the land of milk and honey. However expect to find that time has changed a lot of things, as time always does. Regards John S.
