For some strange reason it was the job of the X2/O to make out the rota of officers to dine in Tourist Class. Guess which officer never got to be on the list?

The few I saw were quite attractive Vic , but that was from a distance , I came across a Mechanic many years ago , who had been on the SA Vaal , and he denied the existence of stewardesses , but he was with his wife when we were talking about the Ship , maybe a few had sea wives .

Knowing some of the odd things that Union Castle did Chris , it is no surprise that Eating Rosters fell onto the deck department , you only got one once on a round trip so it was not too bad , the Engine room tours were a real pain in the backside though , especially when you got an expert .

well rob cappy still here but very reticent to speak after the conmen of fooball ......are caught out again on the world stage .......what fools our public are to pay what they do ....to watch what can only be described as bloody rubbish ......our public are conned week after week by these supposed giantsof the sport ...who in the real world are bloody crap ......they should give there money for this poor showing to charity........however on a lighter vein i have been lapping up the fine weather and mucking about in the garden .....pretending to work .....spending hours with the hose in my hand .......reminiscent of my younger days at sea.......love this warm weather.......saw js had a big storm over perth .....and me here in the sun.....its true the lord looks after his own .......and the devil takes them from north shields.....as for marys leg ask js.........i believe it was something he picked up from that old wood ships figurehead on the quay in northshields and passed it on to sweet mary .........bless her as 1000 salors have said before........i am sure the poem which includes the words ........the figurehead was a womans wooden leg....which was written by a runcinans apprentice in 1925 .......who only left his initials on the leg .....js from ns...... it fits that age group i believe he was part of a splinter group from north shields......regards cappy

Biltong.... Thought they sold it in the pubs in small packets the same as crisps, and those hard crunchy things forget the name of them. JS
