We used to go to to a sally army place in Long Beach. they used to collect clothes from the film stars houses. we changed the labels and picked up shirts for 20 cents.

Caapy's incident reminds me of a time in St. Johns N.B. where we used to discharge in the winter season. It was an absolute party place with on board parties every night going onto 0600 every morning.
The 1st trip junior engineer hooked up with a female journalist who was a true nympho, dragging him into bed at smokos, lunch, dinner times and every night, to such an extent that the 2nd engineer actually took her to one side and told her to lay off him as he was that shazzed out he could hardly lift a spanner. One lunch time I was passing down the outside alleyway and there was a group of dockers gathered around his port hole, peering in I sam that they were been given a live show as she had been so eager to jump him they had forgotten to draw the blinds and were treating all who wanted too a show of vigorous soixante neuf. After she had been told to lay off it for a while she would prowl the alleyways at night pouncing on any poor soul who happened to be around offering them wild sex, she was insatiable.
St. Johns at that time only had around three places where you could purchase and consume alcohol on the premises so any ship that had a bar was flooded with girls wanting a drink plus. We used to have huge two ship parties with the Manchester Faith as one of our engineers was ex. Manchester Liners, so it was the Faith one night, the Fir the next, with up to a hundred people partying like crazy. Some of the scenes I saw that trip would make a Soho lady blush, the strangest involving a tomato ketchup bottle being used whilst the boys were sitting round having their evening meal and not one of them taking a blind bit of notice of the show going on in front of them on the table.

I just used to go to the Flying Angel Mission and watch Television, and have a cup of Tea, Little goody Two Shoe,s.
Matter of fact I wondered who finished up marrying all those very loose Ladys that frequented the Waterfront.
I accidently met one in Auckland a few years ago with her husband she told me to keep my mouth shut about the past, she was so perfect, so elequent, one would never have guessed. all the best Glenn
