The scheme is called London Gateway.Quite a lot on it if you google that.could'nt see anything about the millions of Chinese coming here.

Hi shipmates,Hi jim brady the Chinese are funding it all. and the Mega city is part of the project!!!! Who else is going to live in the new mega city? common knowlege its a trade/factory city and Mega port for Chinese ships with Chinese workers running it all , The question is how many local workers will be in employment there? not many.... its 30 miles from London part of the Thames but it will become they biggest city outside China.

If it is like that Louis, I would call it the London Pathway. it is making our country Terminal.

Hi shipmates, Hi Captain Kong, xxx Hi jim brady I did not make the deal, only post it on our site. The Government gave them the go ahead at the last Olympics in london as "Boris Johnson" was one of the main men in the London Gateway new port and mega city project !!!!500-000 people is just the start Captain Kong they are not immigrants, but full time workers in they own city.

It's nothing more than like a large Free Port.Being built by a company called DP World who specialise in this type of dock/port,they have built about 6 such ports around the world their flagship one being Dubai.It doesn't say anything about people living there.Two video's to check out http://china.londongateway.com/

They need it to pay their fares, Chinese wages are not that good you know.

One thing I cannot ever work out , is , we are an Island with a finite number of inhabitants on a limited amount of income , we have huge container ports already , and the export of goods is small , so when a new facility opens , promising vast employment , and honestly , we need that , I assume this is not new trade , but is existing trade or some nicked off the other operators , so is a new job in the North West a lost one in East Anglia or Southampton ? or is it really a " New " job for Britain

Rob #27, nothing new there mate. We cget the same thing and I am sure all countries do it. Jobs are lost in one area and then new ones created in another. The Unions claim the gov should have done more to protect those who lost their jobs, the gov says look how many new jobs there are. I think it is known as Sods Law.
