CURFEWS.
Was ashore in Fama-G from a Mossy Boat,1963. Greeks and Turks had kicked off so a 22.00hrs curfew. Still drinking past curfew time so the Boss (Spiros?) phoned the British Army Post, 5mins later a Land Rover pulls up outside and we all piled in and are taken back to the ship. British Hospitality:D
Feb,1957. Bone. Algeria. ashore from the DUNADD iron ore boat, curfew sunset (it varied frome night to night) The streets were patroled by Legionnaires and if anything moved after dark it got Blasted, they would shoot dogs, cats or drunken sailors just for fun. No Frog hospitality there.:( There's plenty more, but my dinners ready.ttfn Peter.

Hi Peter,
I was in Algiers in 1955 on the good ship GEORGIC, just landed the French Foreign Legion from Indo China,
we went ashore and there was a Curfew there, 10pm. We were going through the Dock Gate and our passes were being looked at,
"English "?? said the Legionaire.
`Yes` our crowd said.all Liverpool.
Behind us were some Scots Engineers.
`English"?? said the Legionaire.
`Och No, we`re are Scots.`very strong Glasgow accents.
The Legionaire locked them up in a cell for the night,
Cheers
Brian.
