When you see some of the ferry around the world, and the number of people and cars they push on them, it is a wonder more do not sink.

These are Ex Washington State Foot passenger Ferries , and the MV Skagit which overturned was overcrowded Toll from former Vashon ferry sinking in Tanzania could hit 150 | Nation & World | The Seattle Times How many people do these third world ferries have to drown before someone somewhere does something to make them adhere to the capacity they are licensed for , 115 foot long ferry with at least 30 over the maximum number of passengers . Sad !!!!!

THERE IS NO CONTROL OR SUPERVISION, ITS JUST FINANCIAL GREED, also the passengers are not blameless, they keep coming on board untill every space is full, have experienced this in Goa , MV SKAGIT AND SISTER SHIP.SKAGIT.jpg personally i would not class this vessel as Seagoing, more suited to Inland Waterways, 2 decks high, all that weight high up, and overloaded, a recipe for disaster.

I looked up Vashon Island where these Ferries originated . it is an estuary , not open sea like the straights between Tanzania and Zanzibar , Looking at the construction , whoever bought these for a run in that sea should be locked up and charged with manslaughter , because looking at the run they made in 22 minutes these were not seagoing vessels at all .
