Hey Brian, you should have saved them and sold them on to UCL stewards. In the cook thread there was many a use for them.

Reading recent treads got me thinking of a couple
1In the late 80s,i was on a benline chemical tanker going from Rotterdam to Venstipil(russia) light ship via kiel canal. Once we left the canal, as per usual we hit bad weather,as soon as the spray hits the deck it was turning to ice. By the we got to Russia, the whole boat was absolutely covered, all hands on deck to clear the decks so we could get tied up,took ages to get the boat free of the stuff
2 Whist on a Shell tanker coming from Japan to Singapore,we were on the edge of a storm when we got a mayday, that a vessel hadlost power in the eye of the storm,as we were the closest vessel we altered course to assist. Once we altered we were hit by a rouge wave on the stbd side. I was on the 8-12 and the ship went to 44degrees hung there for a moment before she came back it was heart in the mouth job,I still cringe at the memory, still hanging in there after 30yrs.
Got plenty of good. Cheers dennis:thumb_ship2:
