Bye.bye, Red Ensign on the Queens.
Hi Lads and Ladies. I have just read in a shipping magazine that the new Queen Liners are to ditch the Red ensign and register the ships under a flag of convenience. That must be the worst insult that we could have. take care..... Terry.

Red ensign
SHOULD BE MADE ILLEGAL TO DO SO. IF THEY DO THAT MAKE THEM CHANGE THE NAMES OF THE SHIPS.

What a sad day to see the Cunard Queens haul down the red ensign. Again money talks. Anybody any idea where the ships are to be re-registered?

I have booked on the Queen Elizabeth for a cruise to Australia in January, I always sail Cunard for years because they are under the Red Ensign. if that is true then it could be the last voyage with them.

Queens
The Queens will still fly the Red Ensign, albeit with a badge in the fly, as that is the flag of Bermudan registered ships, i believe.

Am I correct in assuming that there is no income tax in Bermuda, which is why the ships are being registered there.

The whole point of flagging out, FOC, is tax evasion.
I pay tax on my miserable pension, but Carnival Corporation, CUNARD, making millions out of Britain will pay Nowt.
