Hi John, firstly Congratulations to you both :) I'm sure you will enjoy this cruise, my wife and myself have done it and had a great time. Boarding in Southampton is really good, beats Airports anytime plus you will be allowed onboard even before your cabin is ready. If possible try to arrive at the terminal about 1230hrs no matter what boarding time P&O gave you, forget your luggage they are pretty slick with that, it just turns up in your cabin. Enjoy it mate :)

Many thanks for your congratualations yes we are looking forward to it after a very bad few years with my wifes & youngest daughters health problems (both had breast cancer) however it looks like that is all behind us now so this holiday couldn't have come at a better time.
With regards to getting to Southampton on time well we wont have any controll over that because tomorrow we are going to our daughters in Nottingham for the night then she will run us to East Midlands Airport next morning and we leave there by coach @ 08.30 exactly what time we get to the ship I have no idea.

Asuming its a "Eavsaway Coach" Still no problems, my wifes mate boards one at the at "Knutsford Service station" and is aboard by 1430hrs, still pretty slick boarding. You will both have a great time I'm sure.:)
Thanks for the thanks! My Discharge No. is R681197, so we went to sea almopst at the same time. I was given mine in September 1957 at Liverpool, when I signed mIndentures with Cunard White Star. Have agreat trip, and sink a few for me!

I Liked the photo of your group on stern of Pavia Gordon but didnt recognise an yone. I joined the London based ships of Cunard about the same time as you and did fifteen years with Cunard. Did sail as PCS on Pavia on a very different trip than was her norm. The year was 1964 and we did a ZIM Line charter to the far east Japan etc,very different from the normal Atlantic run or Meddy.
