    Default Norwegian passenger ship fire.

The news on it has been rather sketchy, what happened there. I understand there was an explosion and fire and 2 people killed, mostly likely engineroom boys. What was the cause of the explosion? I don't think she is steam. I've a lot of respect for the Norwegian merchant navy.

    Default Hurtigruten Ferry Fire 15/9/11...

    Deadly Fire on Norwegian Ferry

    Lloyd’s List
Norwegian authorities are to investigate the cause of a fire on board a Norwegian Hurtigruten ferry that left two crew members dead. The ro-ro ferry Nordlys caught fire on Thursday morning en route to the west Norwegian port of Ålesund. It had 262 people on board and the vessel was evacuated, with over 100 passengers taking to the lifeboats before its arrival in port. The remaining crew and passengers left the ship in the port, and local buildings were also evacuated due to heavy smoke. Nine people, eight of them crew members, were taken to hospital with burns and suffering from smoke inhalation, two of them in a critical condition. Hurtigruten operates a number of vessels that trade up and down the extensive Norwegian coastline, offering a vital supply and trade link to many of the country’s port towns.
