Not unlike the Americans when in Veitnam or Panama from the stories that are now coming out about the atrocities that they commited and do not think that they where the only ones if the truth was told. Not that it makes Despots any better just that they are singled out more. I do not think any of us would like to know the full truth of what goes on.

Good guys/bad guys. A benevolent dictator as against a greasy politician, what difference does it make. The choice is up to the people of that country. The West should not be too complaisant about mobs such as shown by the media in different parts of the middle east, they should think back to London and other cities recently where Anarchy was a whisker away. I wonder how close they came to declaring Martial Law. What would be the attitude then if mid eastern countries put in assistance for their downtrodden brothers in the UK. Politicians are put there by the people to work for their people, if they dont they stand to get the same treatment as seen elsewhere and should get out of the system and maybe get a proper job. The Greeks originally had the right idea those many years ago when Democracy was formed, their government was changed at very short intervals, as this was thousands of years ago and smaller populations, it must have worked a treat.

In the news today images of about 50 Gadaffi supporters who had been' executed'. The West is demanding to know what happened. I can tell them what happened, there was a revolution against a tyrant and he and his mates lost, end of story. I believe the term is colateral damage, live by the sword, die by the sword.
No doubt you have seen images of the 'occupy' what ever city it is in, some of the protestors were genuine, but others just there to make trouble. These are the ones that have no cause but would given the chance be little better than the likes of some dictators.

Do not think we are far from being dictated to under the guise of Democracy. You get a MP on his own and find that he is not that bad and will listen to your concerns even agree to act on your behalf. Meet him again but there is another MP with him and he will get back to you with your problem and will let the relavant department know about your problem. Get a group of MP and they will inform you that it is on the minutes for further discussion when a commitee can be formed. Get them all in parliment and you will be religated to the trash can and the only reply if you get one will be from some minnion in India if you are lucky. Your status now is "Mushroom" only to shown daylight on election day. Was it that long ago when being a politician meant that you where classified as an unskilled worker when we had politicians that came from working backgrounds and we did not have the lies that we get now that we have them coming out with university degrees in politics. I much prefered the former over the later as they at least knew that there is a population out there to be looked after if they wanted to get voted back in. No there is not much difference between Despots and what we have just that we get to choose between which Despot we want to screw us. Has anyone else realised that the only difference now between parties is purely the name of the party. They are all so firmly entrenched at the trough. Notice that those in the UK have manged to stop a referendum on getting out of the EU.
