Polar Bears are a protected species, a human is (sadly) killed on the bear's territory - so we shoot the bear(like an act of revenge). Crazy,mixed-up,hypocritical human beings .Sometimes I despair for society .
And I'm surprised some of you on this site haven't blamed the politicians yet....:)

I stand corrected, as usual! The paternal name was usually that of the family, but Polish people normally attribute gender to siblings and offspring when talking of them. A great deal of my Polish friends were indeed ex- forces, but quite a few were survivors of the concentration camps. Hence the need for a Polish Hospital in Wales. It was run like a small part of Poland, and I learned to enjoy the many different Polish foods. I, for one, welcome the proliferation of Polish shops nowadays.Their hams and sausages are to die for!
I am not too keen on having the Poles in their present form over here
I was in the bank three weeks ago, I was discussing a financial problem with the Bank Manager at a seperate desk from everyone else.
Two Polish yobs came over and stood over me and started to point at my documents and laughing.
I got up and told them to go away, they started to push me and I got a grip of one and shoved him against the other, The Manager was not very good, I told him to get Security, meanwhi8le these two Poles said "We are waiting for you outside".
Security came but they had gone out. I finished my business and went outside and they had disapeared.
I was ready to sort them out, I am still a big fellow and can handle myself even tho` I am 76, but I should not have to have Polish bums hassleing me.
Ship them all back .

Brian,I found the new generation Poles O.K. when I worked and lived in London.
It's their generally despised brethren the Lithuanians and Latvians (who were once more-pro Soviet than the Poles ever were) who are some of the most lawless criminals in this country at the moment.I mean as conmen,and organised car theft which has also involved violence.The latest influx from the EU are of course the Bulgarians and Rumanians and I heard they're bad.
But it wouldn't have surprised me if those two in the bank were Lithuanians,rather than Poles.There have been many reports of card and subsequent identity theft from people who have used cash machines and banks. Usually 2 or 3 in a group who use distraction techniques to rob you.
Maybe they were laughing at you thinking an old boy's pension book not worth nicking(little do they know you're rolling in it going on all those cruises) !..or maybe they were laughing at that pink handbag you insist on taking everywhere,we keep telling you not to ,you know.....

The change of subject started when Gulliver was savaged by Sonia the Polish sex bomb and CGW also admired them , so I got swept away by the tide.

Oh Gulliver! You bring back such sweet memories. 1952/3 we were taken on a trip to the Big Smoke to see the ships in the London docks. We were packed onto a P.L.A launch and taken around the various docks looking at the various ships all very interesting. We were a mixed school so we had girls along with us and I discovered sweet Marie (pronounced Mar-rie not Ma-rie). No you can't have her last name in case her old man should read and recgonise. Let's say it must of been something to do with being in the fresh air(London Docks!!!!) We were doing our bit of discovery away from the rest of the kids but not from the helmsman as he nearly wrecked us a couple of times. Picture the news ' Children in shipwreck in London Docks' Helmsman blames something getting in to his line of sight!!!
