Roger.The mention of taking a girl to the Pictures jolted the old memory.
My first date, think I was about ten, I took Kathleen to the Odeon to see a pirate film.[must have swiped the money, or she paid]
I got so excited about the movie, that at the end of the show I dashed out with my mind full of how I was going to go to sea as soon as I was old enough. I forgot all about Kathleen.
Re met her some years back while on a visit to England.
Sure glad that romance didn't not blossom.

hi roger i was going with a girl named beryl whose bedroom overlooked the football ground. we used to get a penny bus ride to town and go in the odeon. there were quite a few double seats and we sat in one to watch the film my arm natuarly went round her shoulder. bang! a sudden pain in my arm. one usherette! get your arm away from her this is a cinema. a stand up row ensued and i was thrown out with beryl sheepishly following.this was in the late forties early fifties.in the seventies i used to drink in the long bar and go to rock & roll does in the white house hotel behind alf
