Ship History
Help sought
Vessel "Virginia" ( I D No. 5381928 seems some doubt about the number)
built around 1941,(possibly Sweden) 5000dwt 5 hatch cargo vessel
Can anyone steer me in the right direction to get the history of the vessel,
No rush as I shall be travelling for two weeks from tomorrow
All help appreciated

Flag: Sweden
Type: Carrier / Merchant
Year built: 1942
IMO No. 5381928
Virginia 1942 1,688
built by Lindholmens Varv, Gothenburg | 1954 sold to Greece renamed Thalia, sold several times without an change of name, 1976 sold renamed Global Princess, 1978 scrapped.

....and basically same from Miramar Shipping Index,except ship became THALIA in 1964,and GLOBAL PRINCE (not PRINCESS) in 1978.

I AM NOT THAT WORTHY:
There are many more eminent on site.
One fact or give away is just to think outside the box, often when I do not come up trumps, tend to think further. If SS in a google search or similar, results with nil - attempt steamship, MV, etc, etc. More the thought that goes in than just a request. Often it works or then try harder.
Not taking the preverbial, just trying to help.
