I see that PandO are to put the 2 Hull north sea ferries under a flag of convenience. No doubt the crews will get a similar deal to those on the irish sea routes, last year they were on £1.63 an hour. this is despite the company getting the British tax breaks, whether the ships are registered here or not. Last year they made £25 million profit, tax paid NIL, my meagre pensions are taxed, I have 4 tax codes for 4 small pension amounts, and recenly got 25pence a week rise in pension credit, the local council then hit me for £27 a year more! so I lost£15 ayear! I think I will have to approach PandO's financial advisors, they seem to know how to make money and pay no tax! either that, or I will have to win the lottery and emigrate sharpish! regards to all, Ron
