    Default San demetrio, london

Here is a full length film of an Eagle Oil Tanker, full of Aviation Spirit, in a Convoy on the Western Ocean gets heavily shelled, on fire, they abandon ship and later find she is still afloat they go back on board and save the ship and take it to Scotland. Based on a True Story.

    Brian,

Thank you for that film. I was an assistant steward on the San Leonardo an Eagle Oil T2 Tanker in late 1958. The Cheif Steward on that ship told us that he was on the San Demetrio as an assant steward when that incidend happened, he was not one of those who rejoined the ship though. I cann't remember his name now.

    John.

I think the only one to spoil that film was Robert Beatty, Not a good actor and totally out of place on that ship.
I think he was there to please the Yanks, to show that in 1940 they were there.

    No Full Movies allowed here.
I have therefore put a Final Music Theme here in its place !
The Actual Movie can be looked up on YouTube if anyone wants to watch the Full Version!
    Thank You
    Sorry!
