The Imitation Game
The Imitation Game Official Trailer
This film is about Alan Turing - mathematical genius, hero of the WWII code breakers of Bletchley Park, and father of modern computing...Excellent film and one I thoroughly recommend. If you want to read more you'll find here in Trivia & Interesting Stuff, 7th Nov 2014, "Alan Turing, Code Breaker and Marathon Runner"

Re: The Imitation Game
Saw this one on the plane to London. The man was a genius and well ahead of his time. Would not have been out of place with UCL or Cunard. But treated in a terrible manner for it.

Re: The Imitation Game
Marian, I confess that although I have read about the brilliant Alan Turing, I have yet to see this film, however it is something I look forward to with relish. As Happy Daze indicates, here was a man who because of his sexual proclivities was ultimately destroyed by the persecution he suffered as a result of moral judgement and the legal and political machinations of an ungrateful nation. Had the common man but known, there was a time when this man's brilliant mind was the crucial factor in the ultimate allied victory. Hopefully, history will treat him with greater consideration.
