Re: Social Comment
You for got the 14th!!!!
A man is sitting by the big hole in Pretoria thinking about ending it all, about to jump when he hears a voice.
A rather wizened old lady comes out of the bush and asks him what he is doing.
I am going to end it all, nothing is going right for me, wife left me, no money, no job what is left.
I am a fairy with special powers said the old lady, I can fix all your problems.
Oh yes he says and what will that cost me/
All you need to do is have sex with me.
He thinks for a moment looking at this old lady again, but thinks what the hell what have I got to lose.
Sop he has sex with her.
After she asks how old he is.
I am 52 he replied.
52 she said, and you still believe in fairies?

It’s not full cream then John if can’t use on one’s cornflakes as will taste peculiar .
As to your post on different types of passenger ships has come up in letter form with no means to reply so will slip in here. You don’t mention just going supernumerary on the old cargo ship. Getting yourself signed on as Same and them paying you for being there. Used to be a shilling a week , but must be a lot more now , if they try to make you work claim you are unfit and will sue them for any damage incurred . Keep on at them also for steak eggs and chips for breakfast none of this bacon as your dietician has warned you off it. Cheers JS

John S.
WE had one of those and the wheels fell off. Seriously we had a supernumerary from Melbourne to the UK, was supposed to work, I can see him now sitting on te deck with a chipping hammer, I think he did one chip an hour, one of the dirtiest and laziest persons I have ever met, yet he came from some sort of rich family. I can't remember what the story was, probably the reverse of the English sending their sons to the rubber plantations. maybe.

#28 A Remittance Man Des ? Paid by his family to keep away. Something that Harry may well become after he gets writers cramp and can’t afford the electric bill ? Although he has a wife who he can live off, unless she goes walkabout. JS

Re: Social Comment
The two we had were on the Paparoa, both gay as it was.
One claimed to be a son of the CEO of BHP at that time.
How true we never found out.
But neither of them had to work, just enjoy the voyage home to Oz.
Got off in Melbourne and had to make their own way from there.
