It never fails to amuse me the amount of idiots that panic just because the shops are closed for a day. How the feck would they have got on three decades ago when they where closed for the weekend
That's the way the mop flops.

My thanks to Brian for this site.

Or worse still back after the war when rationing was still in place.
'Sorry sir no cheese for the mice this weel your allowance is only two ounces'

Here in Melbourne we have one shopping center open for 72 hours on stop, say they will take about 2 or 3 billion in sales in that time.

But come Boxing day the shops will be full again.

Back in the 1980'sI did an 18 month stint as store manager with what was then Safeways.
Boxing day one of the biggest seller...............toilet paper the shop ran out of it.
Must have been some dodgy tucker then.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Back in those days John even the mice may have looked edible to some. My old man when he came back from Burma would never eat chicken. In later years i found out from him what he thought he was eating in Burma was not chicken but rat, they reckon you cant tell the difference unless you sight the 4 legs and a tail . JS

No mate over here in Melbourne.

It is said if you take a chicken leg cat back leg and Rabbi, skin them they all look alike.
Have eaten Squirrell and that tastes a bit like chicken.
