I have to confess Marian, 1 was not there for my first sons birth, Xmas day, and he was the first Xmas baby in Southampton General, i came off nights for the birth of my second son, greeted by my wife to say her waters had broke, panic stations, get her in the car and off to the maternity hospital, got her in the front door, nurses met her, my wife had to get to the loo, and lo and behold he was on his way. He aways maintains he has been in the sh**, ever since , lol. Glad i was not there, would have hated to see my wife in pain, big softy really.
