The Aboriginal population now sits at about 1million genuine, plus the box tickers.
That is about 3.5% of the population.
But if you tick the box you will get the same treatment as the genuine ones get.
No one will question you as to how much of one are you.
There are some who tick the box with just 1% Aboriginal blood.

I understand that in USA once you reach 1/16 native blood that is as far as you can go.

But here they have the vote as we all do, the same opportunities, and some have done well and become MP, so it can be done, but some are prepared to continue living as stone age man did when Cook arrived.

So for me a very large NO, under the proposed legislation any one of them can ask the gov for anything at any time.
the rest of us get the chance every 3 years.
