Great notes Marion. Am impressed with the, no doubt very successful, door bell. Sorry, can't help laughing at the thought.

Not only formidable femme , Cappy, but formidable femme de la mer . This does not translate to a formidable shore bosun either. A lot of us call our wives that . Cheers JS.

Seeing the title made me wonder if Marion had stumbled across the missing money from the Great Train Robbery or a bundle of old white fivers maybe.

I once owned 5 of them in 1953 John. To spend in a shop at that time you were assumed guilty of not coming by them legally. It was usual to put your name and address on the back of same.I think if they hoped to catch any crooks by such methods, they would have to be honest crooks , if there are such . The great train robbers years later it didn’t need any money to come under suspicion , I was the excuse for some dim witted civil servant of being a suspected one. I am totally innocent honest ! JS

PS I believe the UK treasury dept.are shortly to do away with the 10 pound note. I have a number of same and due to travel restrictions no one is changing money here , please tell treasury to wait until I get rid of them JS
