Lewis, thank you for being so observant.
/It was One kilo, not 12.
As to the consumption of raw meat, when fresh, that is no more than four days after slaughter, it is perfectly good to eat raw.
Samonella, Botchelism and other microbiotic parasites do not begin to emerge until then, but depending on level of refrigeration they may take longer .
We often had a side of beef delivered to the Uni kitchen in an unrefrigerated vehicle, but as it was only one day after slaughter and kept in cool room prior to delivery it was fine.
Too many old wives tales told about rawe meat.
However Pork and Chicken do require very different treatment

The risk of disease from ingesting pathogens found in raw meat is significantly higher than cooked meat.

Not much of a meat lover but do insist it is fully dead before eating, what a shock if it hopped off the plate when a fork was first inserted......what a vision can't stop laughing myself now. Lol

Yes Lewis like you not so much red meat now, fish at least four times a week and chicken as well

Had some fun in the supermarket in the deli asking for chicken Maryland.
I asked the girl behind the counter if they were back legs from the chicken, I will go and ask she said.
The deli manager came back and said she was only a junior but he had fun explaining to her.

Sad when you think that some of the younger generation have no idea where some good s come from,.

Try asking for haggis next time John, that should give you plenty ammunition for a wind up. (I am just off to Edinburgh to pick up my son, but will be stopping in Jedburgh to get, arguably, one of the best haggis in Scotland).
