Should of had the Townmoor in recognition of being a Newcastle Company. The Dartmoor on passing other ships in suez and such places used to shout how long you in for. When on the Exmoor were in collision in the River Plate, the same week think it was the old Kirriemoor was in collision in the Red sea both write offs and sold to foreign owners. Old Runcimans staff were all good car salesmen. Think the Northmoor was mined during the war. Old Hoggie was on her and survived. Cheers John S
I was on the Cortona as galley boy about 1960. A good feeder. I had a ball on that South American Run, then she was chartered to the French Government as a floating freezer on the Gironde. I did 3 months there and then left her.
