Hi richard I've just joined this forum today and I was interested to note you sailed on Denholm tankers as did I, Naess Soveriegn, Gulf Briton, naess endeavour, coastal corpus christi, nordic clansman, and a beast called the Jayana, ex mobile tanker should have been scrapped before i joined it. Oh i almost forgot, the Burmah endeavour. all a long time ago but always remember some of the horrible trips as well as the enjoyable ones
Hi Richard,
I sailed on the Burmah Cameo from July 74 to January 75 she was the ex Naess Endeavour and was also in a pretty poor state. She was a steamship and had no electric turning gear so in port we were blasting thro' on steam every 5 minutes!. No proper bilge pump but using butterworth pump on bilges just about all the time. She also had a deck mounted diesel genny on the after deck as the original stork was just a bedplate. I think she was a lot better than the jet & zircon as we only had one major blackout in 6 months due to fatigued governor springs on the T/As after these were replaced she ran relatively trouble free.

I must be one of the few scousers on here who sailed in one, And I joined her here in L,Pool, I lasted 4 weeks aboard here none of the crew could put up with one arrogant Barsteward of a skipper who was Norwegian, M.V.Mishnish, First opportunity I had I threw my 72 hour notice in. Painting a little foremast in Hamburg mid November skippers orders, W T F I am off I had a life to get on with and better things ahead. :Seeya:
