Hi,
I sailed on the following in my younger days: Joya Macance, Orenda Bridge, Oratava, Hardwick Grange; that Ornenda Bridge was always breaking down, we had engine problems in the cape rollers in a force eight, (bottom of South Africa) we thought we were going to have take to life boats. (the engine room did get it fixed) Leigh, did you have any trouble on the Orenda? Was Joya Macance a tanker? If so we sailed from Karg Island in the gulf, to New Orleans, that was a good tanker, pump men were nuts. (put a flange on the wrong way round, stop the pumping while a long side, very popular chaps)
ian brothers sailed on rippingham +elstree grange early 60s one on deck one steward..jp
