    Default Eye Eye sir

Had some luck yesterday, after being turned down twice by Dr' a week after my 92 birthday and my son waiting for me to hand over my car, I did a visit to an optometrist who was temporary in Cooma. Great young block, had to be as he managed to get me my license for another twelve months. BUT I had to promise him that I would have another cataract removal in three months. so no sneaking about dodging the police as expected, and John, no Gopher for at least a year, YES\\

#1 congrats once again Des, best birthday present possible. Can now resurrect that song when driving to the RSL — The Gopher class can kiss my Ass , I’ve got my driving licence to last. Cheers JS

Thumbs up Re: Eye Eye sir

    Hi Des
Glad for you mate, and thats about what happened to me as well, i had ,had one Cataract Removed and Replaced by a new Lens, then also had an Eye yest but was not quite up to scratch with one Eye! So my Optometrist sent me back to the Specialist with a Covering letter, and of course had the other done. Not long after i again went for my Eye test and Bingo all good now for i hope a few Years yet!
Its great when you can see clear again.
Only thing is i also have Gluacoma in Both Eyes, one a wee bit worse than the other, so on Special Eye Drops, Twice a Day with Azopt, and once a day with Xalatan, this is for life. One thing though i was told by the Specialist that did the Cataracts, that possibly if the Drops dont do what he thinks they should within a specified time, then he has the Laser Treatment up his Sleeve! So will have to wait and see!
    Cheers

    Good on you!!

I think everyday is a blessing and filled with luck based on the fact that you were able to reach the ripe age of 92, I wish you many healthy years ahead!

The eyes are so important I reckon. I know that with all her ailments before she died the killer for the sheriff was loosing her eyesight with wet macula. Still could see a bit but no clearly. Said that everyone on the tele looked like donald duck. Did upgrade to a 85" tv for closed captions and that did help in some way. Along with loss of hearing and other health issues she hung in there for longer than they thought she would. So hold onto the old eyes for as long as you can mates. Nothing like having a good pair of headlights is there.
That's the way the mop flops.

My thanks to Brian for this site.
