AS to immigration now to Oz.

Most must be sponsored, either by family as was the case with my brother even though he was in a needed trade as a sparkie, or by an employer.
In some instances this is over ridden, such as in the case of medical profession, hence the number of Indian persons in the medical profession.

Special required trades may also get an exemption if they have a position to go to, an employer waiting for them.

The language test can be a block to entry in some cases, it is preferred that the person has some basic knowledge of English and can speak it to some extent.

The result, over 196 different countries represented here, some more popular than others.
It has been claimed we are the most multi cultural socoiety there is.

You got it wrong John, the wild west is over here, according to the papers a surgeon in the south of England used his Swiss army knife to perform an operation as he couldnt find a scalpel.

I was wondering if you had had an age assessment for Govt aid? if you are on the pension you could get a lot of help, my wife had it done a couple of years ago, we didn't use it but it is there, I did it mostly for the transport, they have cars that will take you to any Medical facility as far as Canberra or South to Bega and back of course all for a small sum. Example a taxi to Canberra and back would have cost around $250 to $300 this cost me $60.

Had to fight the doctor to sign the chit for getting transport aid , which pays half the taxi fare . The fare to Perth I asked the taxi office how much , their reply anywhere between 120 and 160 dollars one way. So every time the GP wants to sent me to an expert in Perth is going to cost me in the region of $ 300. Plus his possible fee. So I said no way Hosea if not within reasonable distance forget it , otherwise she would have be taking 2 or 3 visits a week. There are quite capable consultants within $12 dollar range. Cheers JS

Some times not what you know but who you know,

Friend of mine has Parkinsons, his wife only has bout 10% eye sight.
For two years he tried to get assistance, no go said the dept.

Spoke with the CEO of the local Community Heath Center where like me he had been a volunteer.
Within a week it was all sorted.

We have patient transport here bot it does noy always go where you need to be at the time.

The state gov promotes aged care at home ,but try getting it, another story.

#56 There are a lot of injustices”s in this world John. But take a step backwards and look at them from a different aspect. The recent blow up between the government and the food stores and his accusations of them over charging. Now look at the price of oil going up due to the war situation in the Middle East , and now take a look at the good old war time Spiv, there is nothing to choose between any of them,they all take advantage of the lack of goods and services and up their prices to suit their own profits. Spivs, Spivs , and Spivs all of the same kilter. Black market goods is alive and doing well, the only people to suffer will be those accused of being colour prejudiced. And may have to change the colour of the Market. JS.

#57 To any would be professional colour prejudiced person please note Black and White are not colours, the colours are the 7 as in the rainbow and if remember correctly are Red , Blue , Green, Yellow , Purple, Indigo, and Violet. JS.

Very true John, remember well the 'Spivs' in London working a racket in Oxford street, then a cop would come into sight, they were gone for all money.

One guy was selling Christine Keelor stockings, she was the center of the Profumo affair in the 60's

Next week one lady comes back and says to the spiv.

She had bought a pair but half a leg was missing.

'I bought a pair last week and i got done'
