Gophers
Recent discussion on Gophers and my complaints about sluggish speeds , I have now had a service on same and put over the measured mile and obtained 13 kph which by my reckoning is just over 7.5 knots faster than some of the ships I’ve been on. Anyone fancy their chances ? There will be no handicaps given , in fact I may have to put a case of beer in the passenger accomodation to keep her head down into the seas. JS

Hope you had your crash helmet on john........did you get flies on your teeth ....just a helpful note but a white silk scarf flowing behind you and a set of racing goggles would give the appearance of a WW1 FIGHTER PILOT......and scare people out your way....... .......LOL R683532....CAPPY

Re: Gophers
Well John I wont be joining your Gopher crowd, As I said I failed the eyesight test down in Bega but he didn't send in a report, so I went to the optometrist in Cooma prepared to bead the Dragon, only to find that she had left three years ago, and in her place is a great great man from Vernon's neck of the woods, Johannesburg, I said, "Your South African?"he said yes where are you from," I said "Wales" He said, "You follow the rugby?" "I said yes as much as they put on TV." Then I said , "You have a strong accent still.' "He said, " Hark at whose talking".
From then on we got on like a house on fire, he did the sight thing, said I needed my right lens fixed on my glasses, sent in a clearance to the RTA, and now I'm right to go for the next twelve months and terrify the citizens of Cooma once more. It feels like I just passed my Masters ticket.

Re: Gophers
Think Des is a bit wary of that one Cappy he heard the misinformation put out by the fifth column and Harvey kissing him , when in fact he was giving him mouth to mouth resuscitation . Cheers JS .
