Stay Hydrated
Been out of action the last 2 days. Standing at the kitchen sink washing a salad. Next thing is I am in the back of an ambulance heading to Arrowe park hospital for a 2 day R&R. Wife came in from the garden and found me out cold lying on the Kitchen floor.
Docs said I had a sudden drop in blood pressure and had a blackout.
Anyway took bloods and was de-hydrated. Cannot understand that as I drink loads especially in ths warm weather and I do not mean Alcohol as I am not far off being tea total.
Getting to be a regular this now 3rd time in 2 years. Because I am on warfarin had to have a CT scan on the head. My son says they will keep those results for years for medical studies, cheeky bugger lol.
THey have played with my meds as they reckon my GP was keeping the BP level to low. I am on 100mg Furosimde a day and 50mg Spironolactone. I surffer from water retention on my lungs since I had a heart attack. It is a balancing act. Suppose with the warmer weather has knocked the scales out of balance.
The ward I was in must have been reserved for head bangers. I am sure I talk a bit in my sleep but there were two either side of me. Thought I was in an episode of Coronation St the insults being thrown by these two , fast asleep and having a right barny.

Re: Stay Hydrated
James.
Two weeks ago my wife collapsed in the Club while having dinner, her blood pressure shot down or up I'm not sure, but they had the air conditioning up high and it was like eating up the Gulf, so it could be just the heat of the kitchen that got to you.
Des.
PS she takes a blood pressure medication.

I had the privilege years ago before entering the St. Lawrence to observe a school of White Orcas all jumping out of the water at the same time. A magnificent sight at the time. JS
Think I have put this in the wrong post sorry too early for me .

Re: Stay Hydrated
My wife a couple of years back had a similar incident , in a shopping center and almost blacked out.
Shot into t Pharmacy and had her blood pressure checked, almost off the scale.
Got home, saw her GP that evening and for some reason blood pressure back to normal.
Now has regular checks.
Happy daze John in Oz.
Life is too short to blend in.

Hmm. A pod of killer whales frolicking in a Canadian river? Check bp and take more water with it.

The thread did suggest that high and low blood pressure can cause confusion and possibly hallucinations.
