Alcohol can also cause dehydration and also lead to people becoming confused.

Re: Stay Hydrated
hi john sabourn #14
good morning i heard tell of people drinking vodka or other spirits through their eyes, but it never appealed to me, because i liked the taste of alcohol,
i suppose being captain you did it so no one could smell the alcohol on your breath.

Re: Stay Hydrated
Well there are only two other alternatives of how the black eye occurred Thomas was when someone offered me a drink of your vodka as they may of said Aye Aye Captain and I misheard them, or I simply got it through peering through people’s keyholes trying to find if there were any mutineers on board . Did find one suspicious character one time but he was in the Apple Barrel , saw him through the bung hole of the barrel ,he tarked funny ya nah so assumed he was a Geordie and said his fadder had settled in S. Shields to get furder education . JS

hi john sabourn #16
good afternoon, well i sailed with geordies and they did seem to talk a bit high and hoity-toity all posh like, it was really hard to pinpoint their actual status, but what puzzles me what was he doing living in a barrel, was he a stowaway. looking for a better life .
