Socks, no worries mate do not wear them, have not for over ten years now.
Shoes, only when going out in the winter months.
Long trousers, only on cruise ships at dinner.
Long sleeve jumpers, roll the sleeves up.

I know it all sounds a bit odd, just like me, but I do not like to be bound up by too much clothing, often restricts movement.

Now Vernon, about this Leg over block you use, you do know of course you cab put a number together to make a bigger block to run around
    Happy daze John in Oz.

My Dad had a Gannex back in the 60's and 70's .We kids used to call it Dad's Flashermac-they did actually look a bit pervy, didn't they.? They were popularized of course by PM Harold Wilson,he of the smelly pipes and one Lady Falkender/Weekender.
I know that the GAN bit was from it's inventor ,a Lord Kagan- because I just looked it up, )!) but I don't know what the NEX part means....

Anyway John, one should desist asking a man what he keeps in his closet,as he might just come out of it. Do not disturb things in a man's closet.Undercover.gif

Certain jobs in the offshore industry one didn’t get the luxury of choosing your mode of dress for example safety boots on offshore installations outside of the accomodation was not a choice you wore the protective clothing supplied any arguments and you were on the first chopper back ashore and you were unemployable. Even on the ships have seen a member of a frc crew fired for refusing to wear a boiler suit and this is in the tropics. Long trousers were a must on helicopter flights otherwise you weren’t allowed on board. This was before all the harping about safety on the Piper A. The days of flip flops and bronzing at ones whim ceased offshore in working areas a long time ago. Going further back shorts were not allowed ashore in The likes of the W.I. Because of morality,
that’s the reason today one still has Bermuda shorts they were the forerunner of the loss of morality one could say. This on that particular subject is part of the the human race and its customs . History of every imaginable subject has changed and is continually changing every minute in the life of mankind. The biggest one that people don’t see is climate change which has been there since the world began. JS.

You look like a younger version of James Mason . Vernon . I have one of self when 16 posing as usual. Hate it as shows me with forefinger and middle finger brown , not from what you think , but nicotine, people don’t believe
me that even at 16 I was a compulsive smoker on at least 60 a day. Being at sea didn’t help matters as they were that cheap. Today couldn’t even afford 6 a day. I didn’t stop for health reasons it was purely because of costing , I even smoked tea leaves before finally kicking the habit, and even today could so easily fall by the wayside. Cheers JS

Like many I smoked, some of the USSA fags at about 6+0 a day.
WE used to swap Senior Service in Las Palmas, for every 200 they would give up to 600 chesterfields.
Yes as a young lad tried the tea leaves, cinnamon sticks and even dry grass at one time.
Used to have the full English breakfast in those days, cup of tea and two fags.
Gave up the smokes in about 1971, only time ever had the Flu, but as to tea, not drunk since about 1961.
In the supermarket have to hold my nose when passing the tea section, the smell is disgusting.

Must admit did once do a streak in Southampton outside the house of a mate, later at night and full as a boot, but it was about 3 in the morning.

Talking about fashion police brings to mind the position of Master at arms on passenger ships. Has the woke brigade or the equal rights groups not cottoned on the inequality of this , what about the Master of legs , or even going further what’s wrong with the Mistress at arms or the mistress of legs. The old hokey pokey did not dissimilate , you put them all in sequence and they all went in and came out as well . And not forgetting to turn around as well .JS
