Remember when the headlight high beam was a foot operated button on the floor next to the clutch pedal

Remember when Skoda's were first sold in the UK, they were manufactured by prisoners.
Remember all the jokes, why has Skoda's have rear heated screen answer- keep your hands warm when pushing it.
What does GTE mean on a Skoda? Gets there eventually.
    Must be many more.

#26 All undeserved really, as Skodas' used to have great rallye successes in the 50's and 60's and I believe pre-war also; certainly no joke now though

Since getting out of hospital in January I was told not to drive for at least a week. Seeing as I live in a beautiful part of the world I enjoy being able to just enjoy the scenery. My wife enjoys driving so I leave it to her now. We run a Hyundai Kona nice car but I find the ride a bit stiff. Having been used to diesels I find the Kona is gutless. Since the pandemic though we rarely have been using it. Now we are opening up more and more it is in use nearly everyday.
Skoda is owned by the Volkswagen group, 4 brands are nearly all the same Audi, VW, Seat & Skoda. Just different price tags.
Who remembers BMC, they had models nearly all the same apart for the grill and badge. Austin & Morris, then the more up market Wolseley, the sportier Riley & MG cars. Obviously the build quality back in the day at BMC was not great.
