    Hi John.
I do know that a big poxy Dr gave me a nasty jab for smallpox, it was not that long after the war so it may have been a stirrup pump.
Spanish flue went through Aus like a Bondi Tram.

Found an article on the net today about the Virus which was very informative.

It compared the rate of infection with the virus compared with the rates for Measles, Chickenpox, Flu and the Common Cold.
All were just as infectious and in some instances more so than Covid 19.

The rate of infection with them is also rated higher than with the Virus.

There is also in development and not far away a patch rather than an injection to cope with it.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Vaccination rates here in Oz going well, will get to over 905 across the nation.
Though there are still a number of nay sayers who think they will be OK without it.!!

Booster shots have begun starting with those in care homes.

But odd thing, NSW the number of infections is dropping like a stone.
But here in Victoria, with similar numbers vaccinated they continue to rise.

Spanish flu, also known as the Great Influenza epidemic or the 1918 influenza pandemic was like some pos
given the wrong name, the earliest documented case was March 1918 in Kansas, United States, with further
cases recorded in France, Germany and the United Kingdom in April.

The name "Spanish flu" is a misnomer, rooted in historical othering of infectious disease origin, which is now
avoided. The pandemic broke out near the end of World War I, when wartime censors suppressed bad news
in the belligerent countries to maintain morale, but newspapers freely reported the outbreak in neutral Spain.

Would be worried at only 905 across the nation.

    Hope it is another typo.

90.9 percent first vacs 87.5 percent second and climbing one of the highest in the world, considering it was a stuff up at the start with our blustering Add man lying that he had ordered 50million jabs when he hadn't, a good effort by the majority in Aus. all the good work done by our Health workers, bless them.

The truth to tell des about the amount we received to begin with.
The original 4.5 million was put on hold by our very good friends in FRANCE, must haver had a warning about the Subs.

But the nation should each 90% plus before the months end.
We will then be in the 5 highest done across the globe.

There has ben a lot of talk about numbers going up when we reopen.
So far since the lock down ended and people are out and about the number of daily infections is dropping.

In NSW which has even easier restrictions than us here in Victoria the number is still in decline.

There is a lot of talk amongst those involved with AZ that by this time next year it will be treated in a similar fashion to the Flu.

Today Val went to her weekly day out to her respite centre but was sent back home after testing slightly positive for covid we both have been double jabbed and are due a booster any time now. I had to carry out a test with a kit provided by the pharmacy which has given a negative reading, now comes the reaction from my doctors practice when I asked for their help after spending hours trying to get them to answer the phone they do not send anyone out to do tests and to do it myself, since the pandemic the medical service has gone to the dogs you have more chance of getting a audience with the Pope than seeing your doctor, you have to answer 20 questions from the receptionist who will advise a doctor and they will answer you within the next 24 hour8 or you can have consultation via the internet, to say i am hissed off is putting it mildly. end of rant FWE. I do question what Doctors at our surgery are doing now, if they are not doing normal consultations, what are they doing ?, i know you have to wait for a telephone consultation even now. Seems its going to be a long time to get anywhere normal at the doctors, all we can do is hang in there mate
