Tony re #11 I guess I was right then it did taste like iodine, I always thought my granny could read. Good job there was no Prep. H. in the house. Thanks for straightening that out for me. Cheers, Rodney
#4... John in Oz , believe sulphur was an old time so called remedy for one of the unmentionable diseases, sometimes called the French disease, they in turn call the English disease. Should have been called the Esperanto disease and have done with it. With a bit of charcoal and Saltpetre. You would have had gunpowder would have given you a bigger headache than alcohol. Cheers JS

I think that was Bex powders, mainly consisted of large doses of aspro, hence the kidney damage. I had a friend who had a ciggie, a bex powder and a cup of coffee for her breakfast every day, no longer with us.
'Take a Bex and have a lie down' was the catch phrase. But so many of the pills and powders because of the base material in them, not quite cement but close, can cause Kidney stones if you take enough of them.
Well, here's the person who invented all those fishermans friend you sucked, lol kt https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-englan...shire-56587841
