Thats fantastic Mike, my op was supposed to be on the 7th April, but understandably it was cancelled. She assures me my place on the list is there for when they do resume, anyway enjoy your new eyes, kt

Enjoy - just like me - no more expensive bills to opticians whose words you have to take - no more need for constant wiping in the rain - no more misting up in both the winter and the summer and best of all no more sore backs of ears and sore bridge of nose - heaven. Just a good pair of Sunglasses to protect from that strong sunlight and enjoy enjoy especially also the improvement in colours. Brilliant Mike very pleased for you. Told you it would be alright.

Snap Keith mines on the 20th. July after a nearly 3 year wait. Am getting a bit sick of knocking my glass over. JS.

Mine was diagnosed year before last but optician said it would be monitored as not severe enough to warrant op.
Last Feb. she decided it was time and wrote a letter to my GP, he referred me to consultant (I had the choice of three hospitals), so I had an interview at the local hospital, then an examination in Newcastle and then the op last August.
The whole thing was done and dusted in 5 months. Well done the NHS!

Had mine done ten years back.
    No problem until now.
I have to have eye injections every month.
    Not a lot of fun.
