Re: Medical madness
Manuka honey, one of the best there is but also one of the most expensive.
Been used since Roman times for medication and use on wounds.
Said to be very good if used on leg ulcers, but much nicer on a hot crumpet.

Re: Medical madness
Over the last few months since the discovery of my bladder tumor, i have been subjected to variety of tests, scopes and operations during this journey. While I appreciate the care and expertise of the doctors and nurses, I sometimes wonder if sadistic tendencies come into play...some of exams i was awake for the proceedure and watched it on the screen. I swear the instrument was the biggest in their tool box, with both a camera and a swiss army knife attached to the tip, a real toe curler.. The later treatments, have now had three injections of serum, BCG, out of six. All are administered by a nurse, so far I have a different one each time. thinking to my self, I would have been really chuffed, aged 20-25, to have all this attention applied to the old lad, but now just lie there hoping the treatments do their job and soon get an all clear....
regards, stan.

Re: Medical madness
My GP had to, under some gov regulations, send me for a medical assessment. All over 70 now must have this.
So the usual, blood pressure, ECG, test for diabetes, check for pulse rate, then onto the questions with a nurse.
This one had just joined the practice having spent many years as a Dementia nurse.
Many of the questions were very simple and aimed at attempting to find out if you had any form of dementia.
But some got her into a period of problematical experience when she asked,
'Are you regular'?
"Yes, every morning at 0630 hours but there is a problem'.
'What she asked'
" I do not get up until 0700 hours'
'Do you drink much'?
'Explain much'
'Do you drink wine and if so red or white"
'Yes but I am not color predudiced'
'I will put you down for two bottles a week the."
"Fine, do you deliver"?
Why did your parents die"?
No idea, they did not tell me but I know it was not from choice."
A few other similar questions and answers and the poor girl was almost wetting herself laughing.
At the end she told me that she had enjoyed the time as most of her clients were either too scared to say anything, or so far into situations such as dementia that they were not sure what was happening.
