john the nurses are run ragged here you cant live in the UK of wages 5 years ago tax tax and more tax nurses from other countries the bulk of them have to live on the hospital grounds the inflation level is to much we are taxed to the hilt every year everything costs more yet not pay rise to meat it? the government really are putting people on the dole because they cant afford to work inflation they call it? funny my grandson was doing his homework and asked me granddad what is inflation well son the price of a haircut goes up but your head never gets any bigger? funny but true.. jp

##john i think the nurses do a wonderful job .....the average wage for nurses across the UK is 18 pounds 63p per hour..a 40 hour week is not an inconsiderable wage by any standard......of course some are on lower and some are on higher ...but the average is as above cappy

Many of our registered nurses, different to state enrolled ones, will register with a nursing agency.

That way they can work when it suits them and for a higher rate of pay than the state enrolled ones.


Not sure what the rate of pay is for them but on average most of our wages are about 20 to 30% higher than in UK.

There were 56,435 assaults on Hospital Staff in the NHS last year . Those assaults cost the NHS a small fortune what with staff being off the security staff that required to protect the clinicians and the damage done . To be perfectly honest I am all for anybody who is a regular offender for assaulting NHS staff should have their rights to the NHS withdrawn

That sounds about right to me John , but when you are comparing a median against different jobs you are looking at overall salary against number of people you find an awful lot of nurses are working to 3 or 4 days a week to fit around their family life I would also looking at the chief executive salary say that my experience in industry was that would be a lower wage than what I would expect most chief executive to be on so it depends what they are actually calling the chief executive . It could be the managing director of a small two or three man firm at the bottom end and the chairman of Rolls-Royce at the top end so I think that that is skewed to a lower rate than what I would say . If you look at the charity sector alone most chief executives in that sector are on £125,000 a year. I would also say that bar staff are probably not allocated to a full 40 hour week but in saying that Iare probably on the minimum wage anyway . I would also say that I live on the south coast unemployment here is very low there are probably as many jobs as there are unemployed particularly in agriculture the farm's are screaming out for Pickers
