Re: Nasal Drip
This works for me Chris, sleep on a recliner chair if you have one, central heating off before sleep as it drys the throat, copious amounts of warm drinks throughout the day along with 2x500mg of paracetamol four times a day if required and a spoonful of honey when needed but especially last thing to lubricate your throat When I had it recently I didn't feel like a glass of wine but had it and slept rather well. Mulled wine perhaps rather than a hot toddy as it might be too harsh last thing. Get well soon
PS Lip balm of similar around the nostrils helps too...

Re: Nasal Drip
Sorry to hear of your illness Chris
As you may recall I too had that a few Months ago and was down for three Weeks with it!
Its really not the best of that I know!
My Dr also just said it would pass with Paracetemol etc what a load of c---. LOL
Eventually when I could stand it no longer,i remembered the old remedy my old Mum used!
Get a jar of Vicks ,rub this on both Chest and back at night ,keep warm, but as Marian says no Heaters on.
I don't Drink but they say a Tot of Whisky helps too!
And that sitting up in a Recliner works for sure!
Take Care mate, and thanks for you know what.
Cheers

Re: Nasal Drip
Last time I had a bad cold and I taking enough medication to revive a dead horse I found the one thing that really did work was Covonia and night nurse at night . I had a bad reaction to the flu jab in 2014 and have refused it since

Re: Nasal Drip
I have been ill twice on Flu Jabs.
in 2006 the US government condemned one lot of Flu vaccines, my son and daughter in law were working at the Scripps Medical Institute over there at the time.
So the US Gov. sold it all to the British Gov. cheap, and made a new batch for the US. and we got the bad one. We were in bed for two weeks very very ill after taking it.
I do not take any now. My Doctor told me that at my age our bodies are immune to most things after coming up from the 1930s and 40s.
.
I do take a Fishermans Friend, they are very good, and they seem to work for me. and sometimes a Gargle with Whisky to sterilise the throat is also helpful. it does kill most virus.
Get well soon Chris.
all the best
cheers
Brian

Re: Nasal Drip
Hello. Poor you ! A cold can make you feel really wretched so hope that you get well soon.
1.Steam - to clear the tubes; several times a day
2.Covonia. Herbal Cataarh mixture
3.Manuka honey. Expensive so we just keep it for medicinal purposes. Good dollop before you go to sleep/or not in your case. Let it just slide down your throat.
4.Vaseline. Keep putting it round your nose and mouth. Prevents soreness and lubricates your skin, which dries when you have a cold
5. Paracetamol if you have a temperature.
6. Olbas oil on a paper tissue and a few drops on your pillow.
Years ago our Doctor said that a cold would take a week if you treated it and 7 days if you left it alone...........
Get well soon
regards
Brenda
